This sci-fi romance is not only directed by Spike Jonze but is also his solo screenwriting debut. The movie stars Joaquin Phoenix as Theodore Twombly, a lonely man going through a divorce, who falls in love with Samantha, an artificial intelligence virtual assistant personified through a female voice (Scarlett Johansson). Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, and Chris Pratt also star in the film which explores how humans connect in a technology-obsessed world and what people want out of relationships and love.
